目前，各刊在全国医学界具有较大影响力，被评为“中国科学引文数据库(CSCD)来源期刊”、“中文核心期刊要目总览收录期刊”、“中国科技论文统计源期刊”，同时被国际多种数据库收录。先后有期刊获得了“中国出版政府奖期刊奖提名奖”、“国家期刊奖提名奖”、全国“百强报刊”、“百种中国杰出学术期刊”、“中国精品科技期刊”等荣誉。

Chinese Journals of Practical Medicine was founded in 1987 and has edited and published five "Chinese Practical" series of medical journals, namely Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine (founded in 1981), Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery (founded in 1981), Chinese Journal of Practical Gynecology and Obstetrics (founded in 1985), Chinese Journal of Practical Pediatrics (founded in 1986) and Chinese Journal of Practical Stomatology (founded in 2008). All journals are supervised by the National Health Commission and sponsored by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and China Medical University.

The five journals have been adhering to the principle of "clinical-oriented, practicality-focused, integrating theory with practice, and improving diagnosis and treatment abilities of clinicians." They have been widely recognized by readers and become a valued mentor and partner of clinical medical practitioners.

At present, with their significant influence in the domestic medical community, the journals have been indexed by "Chinese Core Journals Index Summary" and recognized as source journals of "China Science Citation Database (CSCD)” and “The Key Magazine of China Technology". They have also been indexed by various international databases. The journals have received a number of honors including "Nomination Award of Journals” of China Government Award for Publications, "Nomination Award of National Journals," "Top 100 Newspapers and Periodicals in China," "100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China," and "Outstanding S&T Journals of China" etc.
