英国皇家全科医师学院Royal College of General Practitioner
The Royal College of General Practitioners is the professional membership body for General Practitioners (GPs) in the UK and for family doctors in other countries. Our mission and purpose are to encourage, foster and maintain the highest possible standards in general medical practice in the UK and worldwide. We do this by working with our members: to define the skills that GPs need; to provide them with education and support to deliver quality patient care; to shape the future of general practice; and to be the voice of the profession. We support GPs through all stages of their career, from medical students considering general practice, through to training, qualified years and retirement. We have over 55,000 members in about 100 countries, some 4,000 living and working outside the UK. We represent the UK in the World Organisation of Family Doctors (WONCA), work closely with our colleagues from the British Medical Association (BMA) in the European Union of General Practitioners and are one of very few non-governmental organisations to enjoy a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Health Organisation (WHO). We support the aspirations of the Alma Ata and Astana Declarations to promote universal access to healthcare as a fundamental human right.
