The UK’s Department for Business and Trade and the Health Human Resources Development Centre of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China are delighted to invite you to attend the first UK-China Healthcare Workforce Development Annual Conference online on 12th September.
Healthcare industry professionals are invited to witness the launch of the UK-China Healthcare Workforce Development Platform in Beijing and online, to learn about trends and good practice for healthcare workforce development in both the UK and China, to meet and engage with each other, and to participate in discussions around healthcare workforce development.
The UK-China Healthcare Workforce Development Platform aims to create an ongoing communication mechanism for the UK and China’s organisations to engage and communicate with each other on a regular basis around the themes on healthcare workforce development via different formats, online and offline, conferences, seminars, and visits etc.
The first batch of organisations from both the UK and China joining this platform as the founding members are organisations that have the commitment to further develop their existing and successful collaborations. We also welcome more UK organisations who are interested in joining the platform in future to contact our DBT China trade officers directly to express your interest.
The event will invite a range of experts as speakers from the UK and China to share their experience, knowledge and outlook for future collaborations.

The UK is home to a world class healthcare and life sciences offer. As China is implementing new healthcare delivery strategies and health systems, and upskilling their healthcare workers, underpinned by new technologies, the UK has much to contribute to these ambitions.

Health Human Resources Development Centre (HHRDC) of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China is a professional organization dedicated to healthcare workforce development under the leadership of the National Health Commission. HHRDC has 4 major functions, including health professional evaluation and training, social services, international cooperation and exchange, and health workforce policy research. HHRDC is also designated as the WHO Collaborating Center for Human Resources for Health by the World Health Organization since 2007. In collaboration with DBT, HHRDC would like to act as the facilitator to connect organisations on both sides for healthcare workforce development in China and in the UK.
